Rio Cristal Resources Corporation ("Rio Cristal") is a Canadian corporation focused on the discovery and further development of gold, copper and zinc deposits in Peru.
The Company’s most advanced exploration project is the 18,000 hectare Charlotte Bongará claim block located in northern Peru in an emerging Mississippi Valley-type zinc district.
Initial drill results at Charlotte Bongara were outstanding with 79% of all drill holes intercepting zinc. Exploration work was limited in 2009 due to financial constraints and the Company hopes to begin work again late in 2010.
Rio Cristal also controls the Condor gold project near Nazca, Peru. In March 2010, the Company announced that a bulk sample of approximately 300 kilos taken over a 50 meter bench face returned an average assay of 3.25 grams of gold per tonne. Further surface sampling is underway and drilling is expected to start in the third quarter of 2010. The 2,543 hectare Condor project is located 375 kilometers southeast of Lima, in the department of Ayacucho on the western slopes of the Andes. The Company is actively seeking other gold and copper projects in the vicinity of the Condor project. |
